Barry M has always been successful in creating opaque and vibrant polishes. I feel a post on the classic summer colours, which Barry M does best, was necessary and I've chosen my top 5!
This summer the trend is to mix both brights and pastels meaning there's something for everyone (as seen in Ted bakers latest collection!) The colours I've selected as my top for this summer fit in with this.
- 318 Peach Melba is the most neutral but still maintains an opaque finish
- 295 Turquoise is one of my favorite ever polishes and I used it to death last summer and am most likely to this summer as well. Although disappointingly my bottle has gone so gloopy its almost unusable (I will definitely purchase a new bottle though!)
- 279 Bright Pink is a traditional but wearable barbie pink although not everyones cup of tea. The finish is much creamier than most polishes this shade.
- 304 Mint Green, this colour is gorgeous although green is not a classic nail colour this loos beautiful on the nails!!
- 303 Bright Purple is a colour I purchased last summer and wasn't that fussed with but this summer I've fallen back in love with it and it gives the perfect pop of colour.
I have only ever experienced one problem when using Barry M nail paints, and that's the inconsistency of formulation. I've found that how many coats each polish need varies along with the fact some turn gloopy very fast and others that I've had for years are completely fine.
There are two shades which I feel deserve a mention and that's 308 Berry Ice Cream (I swear mine was called lavender) but this shade is beautiful and would have definitely been included if I'd remembered to bring it to uni. Secondly is a colour I haven't tried but really want, as yellow is one of my favorite colours for this summer, and that's 307 Lemon Ice Cream. It looks horrendously bright on the website but much more pastel in person and I will definitely be picking it up soon!
We are extremely lucky to have access to Barry M in the UK constantly releasing new shades at affordable prices (only £2-3.99!!!!) but always keeps the classic colours in its stands.
Barry M can purchased on their website http://www.barrym.com/ or in boots and superdrug
XOXO
