Am I a Barn Owl?

This week I went to Yorkshire Wildlife Park with some of my favorite people. The child in me was let loose and I had an incredible time.

I wore a strapless jersey dress from Superdry which I bought a couple of years ago. They didn't have the same dress on the website but there are some very similar ones (Click here)! It was so easy to throw on and can be dressed up or down, my Converse were perfect for today as it was pretty dusty and dirty.

I went with my friends from university; Lucie, Alex and Libby and it was such a cute day out. The sun was out and it was beautiful and everyone got burnt apart from me, because I can handle the feeble English sun.

Alex and I make a BIG mistake during the animal action display, thinking volunteers would be asked to touch or feed animals our hands shot up (obviously, how fun) but no, we along with the very young 10 children who volunteered had to act out different animals to show the food chain. We had to be Barn Owls and it was erm... a little embarrassing, but let's just call it a fun memory for the future!

We were a little pathetic!

For a fairly small park the variation and amount of animals was really good. There were loads of talks and the rangers taught us some fun facts. Did you know a Wallaby has four stomachs? No, we didn't either. The Wallabies were one of our highlights of the day because we got to feel and stroke them, they were super cute.

Here are the creme de la creme of our animal pictures.

We had a picnic for lunch which consisted of meal deals and Asda's 'Spritzini', which tasted questionable. It felt like we had already spend hours in the park because the sun had made us so tired. We headed off to find the animals we had yet to see.

I am going to miss our day trips so much when we all go off to America (minus Libby). Whilst at university, we had Wednesday afternoon off so tried to make the most of it by doing fun things every week. So when I get back to uni and the other two are still away, Wednesday afternoons, I feel, will become a time of mourning for our fun trips.

Yay for fun, sun, easy outfits and friends!

XOXO
