As American studies students it would have been rude not to celebrate the 4th July. Especially as Alex, Lucie and I are all about to embark on an adventure to study in various parts of America.
It was supposed to be a BBQ but after a sunny day the rain set in so it was held inside at one of our university's halls. We had hot dogs and burgers with a selection of salads etc but most importantly, it wouldn't be a night of celebration with my best friends without copious amounts of wine involved.
There put crayons on the tables so we could draw on the paper table cloths. Some people made nice patriotic designs. Whereas our was just ...
But the best part of the evening had to be the fireworks and it had stopped raining by this point. They were a lot better than expected and went off to some serious American classics. As you can tell from our faces, we were completely engrossed.
This ended like most occasions I attend, with a bit of a photoshoot but who could say no to posing with giant balloons.
Our lecturer even joined in!
I had such a nice evening and a big thank you to the American Studies department for organising it!
My dress was from sheinsider.com and was an absolute steal at £13 although shipping took a little while. From what I can see they only have a red version now - link here
XOXO
